⚠️File Size Limits

Maximum file size is 10MB

  • Most smartphone photos are well under this limit
  • If a PDF is too large, try scanning as an image instead

Best Practices

Follow these tips for the best receipt scanning results:

DO

  • Capture receipts in good lighting
  • Keep the receipt flat and straight
  • Frame the entire receipt in view
  • Hold camera perpendicular to receipt
  • Avoid shadows and glare

DON'T

  • Don't capture in dim lighting
  • Don't cut off any part of the receipt
  • Don't use extreme angles
  • Don't use heavily angled shots
  • Don't use blurry or out-of-focus images

Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions:

⚠️Upload failed or 'File too large' error

  • Check file size (maximum 10MB)
  • If using PDF, ensure it's only 1 page
  • Try compressing the image using your phone's built-in tools

⚠️'Upload limit reached' message

  • You've used all your monthly upload quota
  • Use manual entry (doesn't count toward limit)
  • Upgrade to Premium for 100 uploads/month

⚠️Processing taking too long (stuck 'Processing...')

  • Check your internet connection
  • Wait a bit longer (processing can take up to 30 seconds)
  • If the receipt doesn't appear, try uploading again
