Understand your spending with powerful analytics, product insights, and weekly reports

Overview

The Statistics tab gives you a complete picture of your finances. Open it from the bottom navigation bar to see spending trends, category breakdowns, top merchants, budget progress, and more — all updated in real time as you add transactions.

Category Breakdown

The Category Statistics section shows how your spending is distributed across categories.

  • • Pie chart: visualise the proportion each category takes of your total spend
  • • Category list: sorted by spend amount, highest first
  • • Drill-down: tap a category to see all purchases in that category
  • • Custom categories: any categories you create appear alongside the built-in ones

✅Uncategorised Purchases

Purchases where the category could not be detected automatically appear under "Other". You can tap the purchase and set the category manually to keep your analytics accurate.

Top Merchants

The Merchants Breakdown section lists the stores and restaurants where you spend the most.

  • • Top 10 merchants by total spend for the selected period
  • • Percentage share: how much each merchant accounts for your total
  • • Trend indicator: whether spend at this merchant is rising or falling vs the previous period

Budget Tracking

Set a monthly budget in Account Settings and Yomio will track your progress against it throughout the month.

  • • Burndown chart: a visual bar showing budget consumed vs remaining
  • • Current spend vs budget: displayed as both an amount and a percentage
  • • Projected overspend: if your current pace will exceed the budget, Yomio warns you
  • • Daily allowance: how much you can spend per day to stay on track

💡Setting Your Budget

Go to Profile → Budget Settings to set or update your monthly budget amount and preferred currency. The budget resets automatically on the first day of each month.

📝Premium Feature

Budget tracking with burndown charts and overspend alerts is available on the Premium plan. Free users see a basic spend total only.

Income & Balance

When you enable income tracking (Profile → Account Type → Expense + Income), the Statistics screen gains additional cards. To learn how to enable and add income, see the Transactions guide.

Balance Overview

Shows total income minus total expenses for the selected period. A positive balance means you earned more than you spent.

Income Summary

Breaks income down by source name (e.g. Salary, Freelance, Gift) and compares it to the previous period.

Income Trend

A bar chart of income over time, alongside your expense trend so you can see the gap between earnings and spending at a glance.

Income analytics only appear if you have switched to Expense + Income mode. See the Transactions guide on how to enable it.

Top Products & Items

The Top Products section surfaces the individual line items you buy most frequently or spend the most on across all your receipts.

  • • Most purchased items: products you buy most often, ranked by frequency
  • • Highest spend items: individual products ranked by total amount spent
  • • AI enrichment: tap any product to see additional details such as nutritional information or alternative products

Product Insights

The Products tab (bottom navigation bar) shows every individual line item extracted from your receipts in one searchable list.

  • • See every item extracted from every receipt in one searchable list
  • • Track how much you spend on a specific product over time
  • • Discover your most frequently purchased items
  • • AI enrichment adds nutritional data, brand info, and alternatives for food items

Browsing Your Products

The Products screen lets you search, sort, and filter through all your items.

  • • Search: type any product name to filter the list instantly
  • • Sort: order by most recent, price (high to low or low to high), or alphabetically
  • • Filter: narrow by category, merchant, or date range
  • • Each product card shows the item name, price, category, merchant, and purchase date
  • • Tap any product to view its full details including the source receipt

AI Product Enrichment

For food and grocery items, Yomio can look up additional information using AI. Tap the "Enrich" button on any product card to fetch:

  • • Nutritional information: calories, macros, allergens
  • • Brand and manufacturer details
  • • Alternative products at other stores
  • • Price comparison hints

💡Enrichment Availability

AI enrichment works best for branded grocery and food items. Results depend on product recognition accuracy.

Weekly Reports

Every week Yomio compiles a spending summary covering the past 7 days. The report is available in-app and can be delivered as a push notification.

  • • Week total vs last week with percentage change indicator
  • • Top 3 spending categories for the week
  • • Top 3 merchants you spent the most at
  • • Most expensive single item purchased during the week
  • • Your current streak and XP progress (see Achievements & Gamification guide)

Accessing Your Weekly Report

From Profile

Go to Profile → Weekly Report to view the latest report.

Push notification

If Weekly Digest notifications are enabled, tap the notification to open the report directly.

Deep link

The report is also accessible via yomio://report/weekly.

Report Breakdown

The weekly report is divided into clear sections:

Spending Summary

Your total spend for the week compared to the previous week, shown as both an amount and percentage change.

Top Categories

The three categories where you spent the most this week.

Top Merchants

The three stores or merchants where you spent the most.

Most Expensive Item

The single most expensive product from the week.

Gamification Stats

Your current streak, XP earned this week, and level progress.

Multi-Currency Support

If you log expenses in multiple currencies, the weekly report converts all amounts to your profile currency using exchange rates at the time of each transaction.

💡Currency Display

All totals are shown in your profile currency. Individual items retain their original currency alongside the converted amount.

Weekly Digest Notification

To receive a push notification with your weekly summary, go to Profile → Notifications and enable Weekly Digest.

Receive your report

A push notification is sent every week (Sunday evening). Tap it to open the full report.

Family Spending Breakdown

If you belong to a shared family group, the Person Breakdown section shows how spending is distributed among family members.

  • • Per-member spend totals for the selected period
  • • Percentage share: each member's contribution to the family total
  • • Individual trends: see whether each member is spending more or less than the previous period

💡Premium & Family Plan Required

The family breakdown is only visible to accounts on a Premium plan that are part of an active family group.

Spending by Deposit Account

If you have set up deposit accounts, the Payment Account Breakdown section shows how much you've spent from each account.

  • • Account totals: total spend attributed to each account for the period
  • • Percentage share: which account handles the most transactions
  • • Account types: Cash, Card, Bank Account, and any custom accounts you've created

✅Assign Accounts When Scanning

When you scan or manually add a purchase, assign it to a specific deposit account. The more consistently you do this, the more accurate the Account Breakdown becomes.
