Managing Expenses

Viewing Your Purchases

All your scanned and manually entered purchases appear on the Home screen in chronological order. Each purchase displays:

  • Merchant Name: Where the purchase was made
  • Total Amount: In your selected currency
  • Date: When the purchase occurred
  • Receipt Image: Thumbnail of the original receipt (if scanned)
  • Item Count: Number of items in the purchase

Family Purchases

If you're in a family group, tap the toggle at the top to switch between viewing your personal purchases and all family purchases.

Purchase Details

Tap any purchase to view complete details including merchant name, date, total amount, currency, deposit account, items with quantities and prices, automatic categorization, notes, and the original receipt image. An "Ask Yopilot" button lets you ask the AI copilot questions about this specific expense.

Editing Purchases

You can edit most purchase details at both the purchase level and item level:

Editable Fields

Purchase Level:
  • Merchant name
  • Date and time
  • Total amount
  • Currency
  • Deposit account
  • Payment method
  • Notes
Item Level:
  • Item name
  • Quantity
  • Price
  • Category

Managing Items

You can add new items, edit existing items, or remove items from any purchase. When you remove an item, the purchase total updates automatically.

⚠️Important

When you delete an item from a purchase, it's removed from your history permanently. However, the monthly upload quota is not refunded for deleted receipts.

Deleting Purchases

To delete a purchase, find it in your list, swipe left (iOS) or long-press (Android), tap Delete, and confirm the deletion when prompted.

⚠️Deleting Purchases

  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Deleted purchases are removed from analytics immediately
  • The original receipt file is also deleted
  • Your monthly upload quota is not refunded for deleted receipts

Family Purchases (Premium)

If you're part of a family group, you can view and manage family purchases.

  • Switch between personal and family purchases
  • See combined spending across all family members
  • Family upload limit is shared among all members
  • Each member can only edit/delete their own purchases

Calendar View

The Calendar screen lets you browse your purchases day-by-day. Open it from Profile → Calendar.

  • Days with purchases are highlighted — tap any highlighted date to see that day's receipts
  • Navigate between months using the left/right arrows
  • Tap a purchase in the list below to open its full details
  • Great for reconstructing spending on a specific trip or event

Products Catalog

The Products tab (bottom navigation bar) shows all individual line items extracted from your receipts.

  • Search and filter items by name, category, merchant, or date range
  • Sort by most recent, price (high to low / low to high), or name
  • Tap any item to view full details including the source receipt
  • AI enrichment: for food and grocery items Yomio can show nutritional data and suggest alternatives
  • Track price changes over time for products you buy regularly

AI Product Enrichment

Tap "Enrich" on any product card to look up nutritional facts, brand details, or cheaper alternatives. For more details, see the Product Insights section in Analytics & Reports.

Scan History

Every receipt upload — whether it succeeded or failed — is recorded in Scan History. Open it from Profile → Scan History.

  • See the processing status of each upload: Completed, Processing, or Failed
  • Confidence score: how confident Yomio's AI was in the extracted data
  • Error details: if a scan failed, the reason is shown so you can re-scan with a better image
  • Retry failed scans directly from the Scan History screen
  • View quota usage: track how many of your monthly uploads you've consumed

Low Confidence Scores

A score below 70% means the receipt data may contain errors. Open the purchase and review the extracted items to correct any mistakes before they affect your analytics.

Income Tracking

Income tracking lets you record money coming in — salary, freelance payments, investment returns — alongside your expenses. This gives you a true balance view of your finances.

  • Log any type of income: salary, freelance, investments, gifts, and more
  • See your net balance (income minus expenses) in the Statistics tab
  • Track income trends over time just as you track spending trends
  • Toggle the feature on or off at any time — your data is preserved either way

💡Income Tracking is Optional

Income tracking is disabled by default. To enable it, go to Profile → Account Type and switch to Expense + Income mode.

Tips for Income Tracking

  • Set a monthly budget alongside income tracking to see whether your earnings cover your spending
  • Review income trends in the Analytics & Reports section

Recurring Transactions

Recurring transactions let you automate expenses or income that repeat on a schedule — rent, subscriptions, salary, and similar entries.
