Access Yomio from your home screen with widgets and shortcuts

Overview

Yomio provides native home screen widgets and quick actions so you can check your spending or add an expense without opening the full app.

  • • Home screen widgets show your weekly spending total and top categories at a glance
  • • Quick actions let you jump directly to the camera or manual expense entry from the app icon
  • • Share extension lets you send receipt images from your Photos or Gallery app directly to Yomio

Home Screen Widgets

Yomio offers two widget sizes for both iOS and Android.

Small Widget (2×2)

Shows your weekly spending total and the percentage change compared to last week. A quick visual check on whether you're spending more or less.

Medium Widget (4×2)

Shows the weekly total, top 3 spending categories with amounts, and a quick-add button that opens the Yomio camera.

Adding a Widget on iOS

Long-press your home screen

Press and hold any empty area until the apps start jiggling

Tap the + button

In the top-left corner, tap the Add Widget button

Search for Yomio

Type "Yomio" in the widget search bar

Choose a size

Swipe between the Small and Medium widget options and tap Add Widget

Adding a Widget on Android

Long-press your home screen

Press and hold any empty area on your home screen

Tap Widgets

Select Widgets from the menu that appears

Find Yomio

Scroll or search for the Yomio widget

Drag to place

Press and hold the widget, then drag it to your desired position on the home screen

Widget Settings

Customise your widget from Profile → Widget Settings:

  • • Period: choose whether the widget shows weekly or monthly totals
  • • Theme: match the widget to your app theme (light, dark, or system)

Home Screen Quick Actions

Long-press the Yomio app icon on your home screen to see two quick-action shortcuts.

📷 Scan Receipt

Opens the camera directly so you can scan a receipt immediately — no need to navigate through the app.

➕ Quick Add

Opens the manual expense entry form (Create Expense bottom sheet) so you can log an expense without a receipt.

💡Platform Support

Quick actions use iOS 3D Touch / Haptic Touch and Android App Shortcuts. They appear automatically after installing Yomio — no setup needed.

Share Extension

Share receipt images directly from your Photos app (iOS) or Gallery (Android) to Yomio using the system share sheet.

Open a receipt image

Find a receipt photo in your Photos or Gallery app

Tap Share

Open the system share sheet

Choose Yomio

Select Yomio from the list of share targets

Image is uploaded

Yomio receives the image and processes it with OCR — you'll see the result in your expense list once processing completes
